Gulf Craft flagship yacht Majesty 175 under construction

The 53.34 metre Majesty 175 yacht has begun construction at Gulf Craft on speculation, the UAE-based yard has revealed.

The first details of a new flagship for the Majesty Yachts range were revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 and CEO Erwin Bamps told Boat International during last week’s show that the build stage has now begun with an early summer 2019 launch planned.

“The Majesty 175 is the first megayacht for us – it’s part of an effort we are doing, driven by the demand of an existing clientele that says: ‘We trust you guys.’ They believe more in us than we sometimes believe in ourselves,” he commented.

In a first for Gulf Craft, the interior styling will come courtesy of Italian designer Cristiano Gatto, with an emphasis on substantial lounging and entertaining areas.

“Yacht design is at the forefront of what I do, but, by virtue of my experience as a sculptor, I approach each and every project as a sculpture, with the overall design in mind but refining it to the smallest detail,” Gatto added.

Further details are few and far between, with the total accommodation capacity and engine installation unclear at this stage, but it is understood that the Majesty 175 will be comprised of a composite hull and superstructure, encompassing a total interior volume in excess of 700GT, and the layout will include a superyacht beach club.

Other projects currently under development at Gulf Craft include the 31.68 metre Majesty 100 series of skylounge yachts, which is proving to be particularly popular, with hulls seven and eight sold at last month’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
